Spyropoulos Brings Technology, Transparency to MWRD Board

Audio Podcasts of MWRD Board Meetings Online this Friday

CHICAGO – A transparency measure championed by Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) Commissioner Mariyana Spyropoulos is taking form this week. Starting Friday, March 11 the MWRD will make audio podcasts of board meetings available at MWRD.org.

“This is a big victory for open government and accountability,” said Spyropoulos. “For the first time in history residents of the MWRD can follow meetings online and easily access information they need to be engaged in the government process.”

Audio podcasts of board meetings will be available to the public at MWRD.org via Real Simple Syndication (RSS) subscription. RSS technology provides an automated process for downloading audio podcasts files and it allows subscribers to automatically receive audio podcasts of future board meetings as they are posted.
